Richmond Mamah Laryea

Richmond Mamah Laryea is a Canadian midfielder born in Toronto on January 13, 1995. He developed at Sigma FC before playing college soccer for the University of Akron, where he featured as an attacking midfielder. Orlando City SC selected Laryea seventh overall in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. After an early spell with Orlando, he joined Toronto FC in 2019 and adapted to a wider defensive role, using his close control and ball carrying to advance play. Laryea also covered both flanks and became a regular for Toronto. In January 2022, he moved to Nottingham Forest, where he was part of the club’s promotion campaign. He later returned to Toronto and spent time on loan at Vancouver Whitecaps. At international level, Laryea represented Canada at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, starting against Belgium and Croatia.
