Ruben Kluivert

Ruben Kluivert is a Dutch defender born in Amsterdam on 21 May 2001. He joined FC Utrecht in 2018 and developed through the club’s under-19 team and Jong Utrecht in the Eerste Divisie. Kluivert made his Eredivisie debut for Utrecht on 11 May 2022, entering as a late substitute. Seeking greater first-team experience, he moved to FC Dordrecht on a free transfer in September 2023 and continued his development in the Dutch second tier. His progress eventually took him to Lyon in July 2025 and Ligue 1 football. Primarily a right-sided centre-back, Ruben Kluivert has also been used at right-back and left-back, showing positional versatility. Standing 1.87 metres tall, he brings physical presence to defensive duels while supporting buildup and aerial defending.
