Ryotaro Ito

Ryotaro Ito is a Japanese midfielder from Osaka, born on February 6, 1998. He developed at Cerezo Osaka before attending Tsuyama Sakuyo High School, then joined Urawa Red Diamonds in 2016. With opportunities limited at Urawa, Ito spent loan periods at Mito HollyHock and Oita Trinita, scoring nine goals for Mito in 2018. He moved to Albirex Niigata, becoming a key figure in their 2022 J2 League title campaign with nine goals and 11 assists. After adding seven goals in 17 J1 League appearances, Ito transferred to Sint-Truiden in July 2023. Used mainly as an attacking or central midfielder, Ryotaro Ito links midfield to attack through progressive passing, through-balls, long-range shooting and set-piece delivery, while his defensive work remains an area for improvement.
