Ryan Michael Hollingshead

Ryan Michael Hollingshead is an American left-back born in Granite Bay, California, on April 16, 1991. He developed at Granite Bay High School before playing college soccer for UCLA from 2009 to 2012. FC Dallas selected Hollingshead in the first round of the 2013 MLS SuperDraft, but he delayed his professional start while undertaking religious service and helping build a church. He signed with Dallas later that year and made his MLS debut in 2014. Hollingshead became known for positional versatility, operating across the back line and in midfield while contributing energetic runs and defensive work. After suffering fractured vertebrae in a 2017 roadside accident, he returned to competition and received the MLS WORKS Humanitarian of the Year award. In 2022, Hollingshead moved to Los Angeles FC, where he helped the club win the MLS Cup and Supporters’ Shield that season.
