Reo Hatate

Reo Hatate is a Japanese central midfielder born in Suzuka on 21 November 1997. After developing at Shizuoka Gakuen High School, he attended Juntendo University, where he played as a forward and refined the versatility that later shaped his career. Hatate began his professional career with Kawasaki Frontale in 2020, operating as a left wing-back, attacking midfielder and winger. He helped Kawasaki win back-to-back J1 League titles and was selected for the J1 League Best XI in 2021. In January 2022, Hatate joined Celtic, where his ball progression, dribbling and ability to link defence with attack established him as a central midfielder. He scored twice and supplied an assist in his first Glasgow derby against Rangers, a 3–0 Celtic victory. Internationally, Hatate has represented Japan at the 2020 Olympics and the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
