Robert Krzysztof Gumny
Robert Krzysztof Gumny is a Polish defender, primarily operating at right-back. Born in Poznań on 4 June 1998, he developed in Lech Poznań’s academy after joining the club’s youth system in 2009. Gumny made his senior debut for Lech in March 2016 and spent the 2016/17 season on loan at Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała, gaining regular senior experience. He returned to Lech and established himself in the first team before moving to FC Augsburg in September 2020. Across five seasons in Germany, Gumny made nearly 100 appearances in all competitions and adapted to defensive responsibilities in different systems. His progress was interrupted by major knee problems, including an ACL injury in March 2024 that ruled him out for more than seven months. Gumny returned to Lech in 2025, bringing Bundesliga experience and Polish international involvement to his boyhood club.
