Ryan Jiro Gravenberch

Ryan Jiro Gravenberch is a central midfielder for Liverpool and the Netherlands. Born in Amsterdam on 16 May 2002, he developed at AVV Zeeburgia before joining Ajax’s academy at eight. At Ajax, he progressed through the youth system and became the youngest player to make an Eredivisie debut for the club in 2018, aged 16 years and 130 days. He established himself in the first team and helped Ajax win three Eredivisie titles and the KNVB Cup. In 2022, Gravenberch moved to Bayern München, where he spent one season before joining Liverpool in 2023. At Liverpool, Ryan Gravenberch initially operated as a number eight and later gained experience in a deeper midfield role. His game combines ball carrying, press resistance and positional flexibility, while his 1.90-metre frame supports his work in defensive coverage and aerial contests.
