Rémy Descamps

Rémy Descamps is a French goalkeeper born in Marcq-en-Barœul on 25 June 1996. He began playing at Verlinghem as an outfield player before developing as a goalkeeper at Lille's academy. In 2010–11, he attended the Académie des Gardiens de But in the Pyrenees, then spent two years with Clermont Foot before joining Paris Saint-Germain in 2013. At PSG, Descamps signed his first professional contract in 2016 and helped the under-19s reach the 2015–16 UEFA Youth League final. Loans to Tours and Clermont Foot in Ligue 2 provided senior experience, with eight clean sheets in nineteen games for Tours. In 2019, he moved to Charleroi in Belgium before returning to France with Nantes in 2021. Primarily a deputy to Alban Lafont in the league, Descamps contributed to Nantes's 2021–22 Coupe de France run, keeping four clean sheets in five matches and featuring in shootout victories over Sochaux and Monaco. He joined Lyon in 2024, adding another chapter to a career built through persistence and reliable goalkeeping.
