Ritsu Dōan
Ritsu Dōan is a Japanese attacking midfielder born in Amagasaki on 16 June 1998. He developed in Gamba Osaka’s youth system and made his senior debut for the club before moving to FC Groningen in 2017. At Groningen, Dōan established himself in the Eredivisie as a lively attacking player. He joined PSV Eindhoven in 2019, later winning the KNVB Cup and Johan Cruyff Shield during the 2021–22 season. During a loan at Arminia Bielefeld in 2020–21, he contributed five goals as the side fought to avoid relegation. Dōan then moved to SC Freiburg, where he became the club’s leading Bundesliga scorer in 2024–25 with 10 goals. A Japan international, Dōan scored against Germany and Spain at the 2022 World Cup before joining Eintracht Frankfurt.
