Riccardo Calafiori
Riccardo Calafiori is an Italian centre-back who can also operate at left-back. Born in Rome, he began at Petriana before joining the AS Roma academy at eight. He won the Campionato Nazionale Primavera and Supercoppa Primavera with Roma during the 2017–18 season. After a serious knee injury in a 2018 UEFA Youth League match, Calafiori completed an 11-month rehabilitation and returned to make his senior Roma debut against Juventus in August 2020. He later spent time on loan at Genoa before joining FC Basel in 2022, where he developed into a more versatile defender. At Bologna, Calafiori became a ball-playing centre-back and helped the club qualify for the Champions League in 2023–24. He joined Arsenal in July 2024, while his senior Italy debut came before Euro 2024, where he assisted Mattia Zaccagni’s equaliser against Croatia.
