Rémy Joseph Cabella

Rémy Joseph Cabella is a French attacking midfielder born in Ajaccio on 8 March 1990. He developed in Corsica before joining Montpellier’s academy at 14, and helped the club’s under-19 side win the 2009 Coupe Gambardella. A loan spell with Arles-Avignon in 2010–11 preceded his senior breakthrough at Montpellier. Cabella belonged to the squad that won the 2011–12 Ligue 1 title, then produced 14 league goals and eight assists in 2013–14. He subsequently continued his career with Marseille, Saint-Étienne, FC Krasnodar and Lille, gaining experience in France and abroad. At Saint-Étienne, Cabella became an important attacking outlet, operating centrally or from wider areas and linking midfield with the final third. He represented France in 2014 and was included in the World Cup squad, while also appearing for Corsica.
