Bote Ridle Nzuzi Baku

Bote Ridle Nzuzi Baku is a German midfielder born in Mainz on 8 April 1998. He developed in the youth system of hometown club 1. FSV Mainz 05 before making his Bundesliga debut for the senior side in April 2018. Baku marked that first appearance against RB Leipzig by scoring late in a 3–0 victory, establishing himself as a versatile, energetic player. In October 2020, he moved to VfL Wolfsburg, where he operated in right-sided roles and became known for his powerful running and ability to connect midfield with the flank. His performances during the 2020–21 Bundesliga season earned him selection in the league’s Team of the Season. Baku represented Germany at under-21 level and helped the team win the 2021 European Championship before returning to RB Leipzig in January 2025. He now brings positional flexibility and high-intensity work to Leipzig’s midfield options.
