Rodrigo Aguirre attacks space and runs beyond the line, using his height to hold up play and feed crosses. He presses high to force turnovers and checks short then spins in behind. Plays with quick, first-time touches. Aguirre began at Liverpool Montevideo, scoring and drawing attention before heading to Udinese at nineteen. He spent time on loans at Empoli and Perugia, adjusting to European tempo. In 2019 he joined LDU Quito, winning the Copa Sudamericana and scoring 18 goals. His Mexico stint with Necaxa and Monterrey sharpened his finishing and hold-up, culminating in a move to Club América in 2024. Rodrigo Aguirre earned his Uruguay debut in 2024, scoring on first cap.
