Quentin Merlin
Quentin Merlin is a French midfielder born in Nantes on 16 May 2002. He developed with FC Goélands Sanmaritains and Pornic Foot before joining FC Nantes' academy in 2012, where he first played mainly as an attacking midfielder or winger. Merlin made his professional debut for Nantes in a Coupe de France match against Lens in February 2021. Under Antoine Kombouaré, he moved into a deeper left-sided role and scored his first professional goal against Paris Saint-Germain in February 2022. He helped Nantes win the Coupe de France that season before joining Marseille in January 2024. At Marseille, Merlin reached the 2024 Europa League semi-finals, then moved to Rennes in July 2025. He has also represented France at youth level, captaining the under-21 side during the 2025 European Championship, where France finished runners-up.
