Petru Popescu

Petru Popescu is a Moldovan forward born in Chișinău on 1 March 2002. He developed in the ȘS Voran Chișinău and CSCT Buiucani Chișinău youth systems before representing Moldova at under-17 level during the 2019 UEFA European Under-17 Championship qualifying campaign. In the 2021/22 season, Popescu continued his development in Russia with Olimp-Dolgoprudny 2 in the FNL 2. He later returned home and played for Victoria Chișinău, making an impact in the Moldovan Cup. Popescu joined Petrocub on 4 March 2025, where he has operated as a forward centrally and from the left. Standing 1.89 metres tall, he offers a strong target for forward passes while also linking play and attacking from wider areas. In the 2025/26 Super Liga campaign, Popescu scored 12 goals in 22 appearances and featured in four UEFA Conference League qualifying matches.
