Pedro Luís Machado Ganchas

Pedro Ganchas is a Portuguese defender, born in Lisbon on 31 May 2000. He developed in the youth systems of Benfica, with spells at AD Carregado and SG Sacavenense, before progressing through Benfica’s under-23 and B teams. For Benfica B, he made 33 appearances and scored four goals in Liga Portugal 2. Ganchas moved to Paços de Ferreira in January 2022 and became a regular during the 2023–24 second-tier season, recording 30 appearances and two goals. In July 2024, he joined Silkeborg IF, taking his career into Danish football and European qualifying competition. He scored his first Silkeborg goal in a Danish Cup win over Roskilde in September 2024 and later netted against AaB in the Superliga. Standing 1.90 metres, Ganchas contributes as a tall centre-back who supports build-up play, contests aerial balls and defends proactively.
