Pedro González López

Pedri, the commonly used name of Pedro González López, is a Spanish central midfielder born in Tegueste on 25 November 2002. He developed in Tenerife with UD Tegueste and Juventud Laguna before joining Las Palmas in 2018. Pedri made his senior debut for Las Palmas in August 2019 and became the club’s youngest goalscorer that September. Barcelona agreed his transfer later in 2019, and he completed the season with Las Palmas before moving to Catalonia in 2020. At Barcelona, he established himself as a technically composed midfielder who receives under pressure, controls tempo and progresses possession through incisive passing. His breakthrough 2020–21 campaign brought 73 appearances for club and country, followed by the 2021 Golden Boy and Kopa Trophy awards. Pedri has since helped Barcelona win La Liga in 2022–23 and 2024–25 and the Copa del Rey in 2020–21 and 2024–25, while also becoming a European champion with Spain at Euro 2024.
