Pau López Sabata

Pau López Sabata is a Spanish goalkeeper born in Girona on 13 December 1994. He began in Girona’s youth system before joining Espanyol’s academy in 2007, and he made his senior breakthrough with Espanyol B during the 2013–14 season. López then progressed into Espanyol’s first team, featuring in domestic cup football. In 2018, he moved to Real Betis, where regular league involvement preceded a transfer to AS Roma in 2019. After two seasons in Italy, López continued his career with Marseille, initially arriving on loan before making the move permanent, and he later returned to Girona on loan in 2024. At international level, he represented Spain’s under-21 side and made his senior debut against Bosnia and Herzegovina in November 2018. Left-footed and 1.89 metres tall, López is noted for reflexes, concentration, short distribution and sweeping behind the defence; he is currently listed with FC Andorra.
