Pablo Álvarez García

Pablo Álvarez is a Spanish midfielder born in Oviedo on 23 April 1997. He began developing in Asturias with Eulalia Álvarez and Isastur Alcázar before joining Real Sporting de Gijón’s youth system in 2009. In 2013, Álvarez moved to Villarreal’s academy, continuing his development at a prominent Spanish club. He joined Deportivo Alavés in 2018 and later spent time on loan with San Ignacio, before moving abroad to pursue senior football. In early 2021, he signed for Bulgarian top-flight side Cherno More Varna, where he played before spending the 2022–23 season with Croatia’s HNK Rijeka. Álvarez returned to Cherno More in 2023, then signed for Ukrainian club Karpaty Lviv in June 2024. Primarily a defensive midfielder, he can also play centrally or in an advanced midfield role, and his 1.87-metre frame supports his work in the centre. He most recently joined Kazakhstan’s Aktobe in February 2026.
