Patrick Wimmer

Patrick Wimmer is an Austrian forward who operates primarily as a right winger. Born in Tulln on 30 May 2001, he began playing with SC Sitzenberg/Reidling before progressing through SG Waidhofen/Ybbs and SV Gaflenz. Austria Vienna brought him into professional football, and he made 47 senior appearances for the club between 2019 and 2021, scoring four goals. He moved to Arminia Bielefeld in 2021 and scored on his Bundesliga debut against Eintracht Frankfurt. After Bielefeld’s relegation, Wimmer joined VfL Wolfsburg in 2022, where his 2022–23 campaign produced four league goals and eight assists. Used on either flank and at times in more central attacking roles, he combines direct running, pressing and crossing, including a notable rabona cross for Bielefeld. Wimmer has also represented Austria internationally and is listed with 1899 Hoffenheim in current squad records.
