Péter Szappanos
Péter Szappanos is a Hungarian goalkeeper born in Jászberény on 14 November 1990. He developed with Jászberényi SE, Szent István SE and the Ferencváros school before beginning his senior career with Dunaharaszti MTK. A loan at FC Tatabánya preceded his 2014 move to Zalaegerszeg, where he spent four seasons and established himself through regular league football. Szappanos reached Hungary’s top division with Mezőkövesd Zsóry FC in 2018, later joining Budapest Honvéd and making 53 league appearances. He moved to Paksi FC in 2023 and helped the club win the 2024 Hungarian Cup, including the final victory over Ferencváros. Szappanos earned his Hungary debut as a substitute against Greece in November 2022 and was selected for Euro 2024. He is currently listed with Ujpest, bringing experience from a late-developing rise through Hungarian football.
