Patrick Schulte
Patrick Schulte is an American goalkeeper for Columbus Crew. Born in St. Charles, Missouri, he developed at Saint Louis University after signing an academy contract with Saint Louis FC in 2019. As a teenager, he saved three of four penalties in a U.S. Open Cup shootout for Saint Louis FC. Columbus selected Schulte 12th overall in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft, and he spent that season with Columbus Crew 2. With Crew 2, he won the inaugural MLS NEXT Pro Cup and was named the league’s Goalkeeper of the Year. Schulte became Columbus’s starting goalkeeper in 2023 and helped the club win MLS Cup, becoming the youngest goalkeeper to start and win the final. He has also represented the United States at under-23 level and was selected for the 2024 Olympic team.
