Pape Matar Sarr

Pape Matar Sarr is a Senegalese central midfielder who has progressed from Génération Foot in Dakar to the Premier League. He joined Metz and made his senior breakthrough in Ligue 1 during the 2020–21 season, scoring four goals in 25 appearances. Tottenham Hotspur signed Sarr in August 2021 and loaned him back to Metz, giving him further first-team experience in France. He moved into Tottenham’s senior setup in 2022–23 and established himself more firmly during the following campaign. At Spurs, Sarr combines energy and mobility with the ability to carry the ball through midfield, cover ground defensively and arrive late in attacking areas. Internationally, he represents Senegal and was part of the squad that won the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. Pape Matar Sarr remains a developing presence for both Tottenham and the Teranga Lions.
