Paul Rothrock

Paul Rothrock is an American midfielder who came through Seattle’s local soccer system. He spent most of his youth with Seattle United before joining the Sounders Academy for the 2016–17 season. At Lakeside High School, Rothrock recorded 33 goals and 44 assists across three seasons. He played college soccer for Notre Dame and Georgetown, helping Georgetown win its first NCAA national championship in 2019. Toronto FC selected him 64th overall in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft, and he developed primarily with Toronto FC II. In 2023, Rothrock joined Tacoma Defiance before making an impact with the Seattle Sounders during short-term emergency loans. Known for energetic wide play, he contributes through pressing, defensive recovery runs and direct attacking movement. Rothrock remains part of Seattle’s midfield group and represents a notable hometown pathway from youth soccer to MLS.
