Patrick Osterhage

Patrick Osterhage is a German midfielder born in Göttingen on 1 February 2000. He began his development with SC Marklohe before joining SV Werder Bremen in 2011, spending six years in the club’s youth system. In 2017, Osterhage moved to Borussia Dortmund, where he captained the under-19 side to the 2018–19 U19 Bundesliga title. Persistent hip injuries delayed his progress into senior football and restricted his opportunities with Dortmund’s reserve team. In June 2021, he left Dortmund for VfL Bochum on a free transfer, beginning a decisive period in his development. Across three seasons, Osterhage made 67 appearances for Bochum, including 60 in the Bundesliga, while providing midfield stability in a team battling relegation. He joined SC Freiburg in July 2024, continuing his progression as a central or defensive midfielder.
