Petur Knudsen
Petur Knudsen is a Faroese forward who developed with NSÍ Runavík before establishing himself as one of the country’s leading attacking players. At NSÍ, he helped win the Faroe Islands Cup in 2017 and featured in UEFA Europa League qualifying rounds. In 2020, Knudsen scored 16 goals in 21 appearances and was named both Faroese Footballer of the Year and Young Footballer of the Year. In June 2021, he moved to Denmark to join Lyngby Boldklub on a two-year deal. He contributed eight goals in 26 appearances as Lyngby secured promotion to the Danish Superliga. Knudsen then joined El Paso Locomotive in August 2023, becoming the first Faroese footballer to play professionally in the United States, before leaving after that season. He returned to NSÍ in 2024 and has represented the Faroe Islands, debuting against Austria in March 2021 and scoring his first international goal against Estonia in June 2024.
