Pierluigi Gollini

Pierluigi Gollini is an Italian goalkeeper born in Bologna on 18 March 1995. He developed in the youth systems of SPAL and Fiorentina before spending two years in the Manchester United academy. Returning to Italy in 2014, Gollini began his senior career with Hellas Verona and earned a move to Aston Villa in 2016. After losing his starting place in England, he joined Atalanta on loan in 2017 and became an important goalkeeper in Gian Piero Gasperini’s high-intensity side. Gollini featured during Atalanta’s historic debut UEFA Champions League campaign and became known for proactive positioning, rushing out to intercept through-balls and saving penalties. He later had spells with Tottenham, Napoli, Fiorentina and Genoa, while also representing Italy at senior level. As part of Napoli’s squad, Gollini won the 2022/23 Serie A title, and he is now registered with AS Roma, adding experienced goalkeeping depth.
