Paul Jean François Bernardoni

Paul Jean François Bernardoni is a French goalkeeper born in Évry on 18 April 1997. He developed in the Île-de-France region before joining ES Troyes AC at 16, progressing through its academy and reserve side to sign his first professional contract in 2014. Bernardoni made his senior debut for Troyes against Clermont in March 2015, keeping a clean sheet in a 2–0 win, and later gained Ligue 1 experience. He moved to Bordeaux in 2016 and subsequently built match experience through loans, including a full Ligue 2 season with Clermont, where he kept 14 clean sheets and was named the division’s goalkeeper of the year. At Nîmes, Bernardoni established himself as a regular Ligue 1 starter before joining Angers in 2020 and later spending time on loan at Saint-Étienne. Internationally, he represented France at youth level and helped win the 2016 UEFA European Under-19 Championship, starting the 4–0 final victory over Italy. Standing 1.93 metres, Bernardoni is noted for his imposing presence, shot-stopping and left-footed distribution, and has also played abroad with Yverdon Sport.
