Óscar Gil Regaño

Óscar Gil is a Spanish right-back born in Elche on 26 April 1998. He developed in local football with CD Pablo Iglesias, Elche CF and Kelme CF before progressing through Elche’s youth system. Gil made his senior debut for Elche’s reserve side in August 2015 and established himself more firmly during the 2017–18 campaign. In 2019–20, he became an important part of Elche’s promotion-winning team, scoring his first professional goal in a 3–2 victory over Rayo Vallecano on 8 March 2020. He moved to Espanyol in September 2020 and continued his career in Spanish football, gaining experience in both the top flight and La Liga 2. Gil represented Spain at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, helping the team win the silver medal, before joining Belgian club OH Leuven in August 2024. At Leuven, Óscar Gil has also been used in wider or more advanced right-sided roles while retaining his defensive responsibilities.
