Oier Zarraga Egaña

Oier Zarraga is a right-footed midfielder born in Getxo, Spain, on 4 January 1999. He began at Romo FC before joining Athletic Club’s Lezama academy in 2009, progressing through the Basque club’s youth structure. Zarraga made his senior debut with CD Basconia during the 2017–18 season and later established himself with Bilbao Athletic. In 2019–20, he played in every reserve-team match before the campaign was curtailed by the pandemic. Athletic handed him his first-team debut on 18 October 2020, in a 2–0 victory over Levante. After three seasons around the senior squad, Zarraga moved abroad in June 2023, joining Udinese as a free agent on a four-year contract. At Udinese, he has operated mainly centrally, contributing through short passing, positional awareness and work between defensive and attacking phases.
