Octavian George Popescu

Octavian George Popescu is a Romanian attacking midfielder born in Târgoviște on 27 December 2002. He began playing in Nucet before joining Regal Sport București in 2014, where he developed alongside other young Romanian prospects. Popescu later spent loan periods at Rapid București and Universitatea Craiova before establishing himself at FCSB. He made his senior FCSB debut in 2020, aged 17, and quickly drew attention for his close control and attacking creativity. In March 2022, Popescu made his senior Romania debut against Greece, adding international football to his early rise. Operating mainly from the left or as an attacking midfielder, he moves inside to create passing angles and threaten around the penalty area. He helped FCSB win the 2023–24 Liga I title, the club’s first league championship in seven years. Popescu remains part of FCSB’s squad, continuing a career shaped by technical ambition and adaptation.
