Oliwier Zych

Oliwier Zych is a Polish goalkeeper born in Gdańsk on 28 June 2004. He developed in the youth systems of Arka Gdynia and Zagłębie Lubin before joining Aston Villa’s academy in August 2020. Zych was part of Villa’s FA Youth Cup-winning squad in 2021, then signed a professional contract that August and extended it in 2022. After progressing through the club’s youth teams, he moved to Puszcza Niepołomice on loan for the 2023–24 season. He made 26 appearances for the Ekstraklasa newcomers and was nominated for the league’s Goalkeeper of the Season award. In May 2024, Zych received a place in Poland’s provisional squad for UEFA Euro 2024, although he later withdrew through injury. Standing 1.93 metres tall, he has also represented Poland at youth level, including the under-21s.
