Olivier Jacques Verdon

Olivier Jacques Verdon is a Beninese international defender born in Clamart, France, on 5 October 1995. Standing 1.90 metres, he began his senior career with Angoulême CFC in France’s fourth tier before joining Bordeaux in 2016. At Bordeaux, Verdon developed with the reserve side and made his Ligue 1 debut as a late substitute against Marseille in November 2017. He moved to Sochaux for the 2018–19 season, gaining regular Ligue 2 experience. In 2019, Verdon signed for Deportivo Alavés and spent the season on loan with Belgian club AS Eupen. He joined Ludogorets on loan in 2020, made the move permanent in 2021, and established himself in Bulgaria as a central defender involved in domestic and European competition, helping the club win five consecutive Bulgarian league titles from 2021 to 2025. Internationally, Verdon represents Benin and was part of the squad that reached the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals.
