Oliver Scarles

Oliver Scarles is an English left-back who was born in Bromley on 12 December 2005. He began playing in south-east London with the Dutch Football Academy before joining Chelsea, where he was released at 11, and returning to West Ham United at under-12 level. Scarles signed his West Ham scholarship in June 2022 and made his senior debut that November, starting against FCSB in the UEFA Europa Conference League. He helped West Ham win the 2023 FA Youth Cup, supplying two assists in the final against Arsenal. After representing England from under-15 level, Scarles made his England under-20 debut against Portugal in March 2025. At West Ham, he has developed as a composed defender who can step into midfield and contribute accurate left-footed passes, while his tackling and interceptions support his work against wide threats.
