Otto Ruoppi

Otto Ruoppi is a Finnish midfielder who developed in the youth system of KuPS in Kuopio. At 15, he entered senior football with reserve side KuFu-98, making appearances in Finland’s third tier during the 2021 and 2022 seasons. In 2023, Ruoppi moved on loan to second-tier Mikkelin Palloilijat, where he made 30 appearances and scored twice. He returned to KuPS in 2024, made his Veikkausliiga debut against HJK, and scored his first league goal a week later. Ruoppi helped KuPS win Finnish championships in 2024 and 2025, recording eight league goals and seven assists by the end of the latter season. He also scored twice against UNA Strassen in UEFA Conference League qualifying and netted against Milsami Orhei in a 2025 Champions League qualifier. In February 2026, Mainz 05 signed Ruoppi, with the midfielder remaining at KuPS on loan until July 1, 2026; internationally, he has progressed through Finland’s youth teams to the U21 side.
