Omar Rekik

Omar Rekik is a Tunisian defender born in the Netherlands on December 20, 2001. He developed through Feyenoord, Manchester City, PSV Eindhoven and Marseille before moving to Hertha BSC in 2017. Arsenal signed Rekik in January 2021, beginning a period in which loans in the Netherlands, England and Switzerland provided senior experience. He later joined Servette FC before moving to Maribor in January 2025, where he remains part of the club’s defensive group. At 188 centimetres, Omar Rekik brings height to central defence and has also been used in midfield for Tunisia, reflecting his positional flexibility. He represented the Netherlands at under-18 level before choosing Tunisia in 2021, and was included in the squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
