Olivier Mbaissidara Mbaïzo
Olivier Mbaissidara Mbaïzo is a Cameroonian defender born in Douala on 15 August 1997. He began his professional career with Union Douala in 2016, then moved to Rainbow FC in 2017, where he recorded four assists in ten appearances. In January 2018, Mbaïzo joined Bethlehem Steel FC, Philadelphia Union’s USL affiliate, and made 22 starts during that season. He made his MLS debut for Philadelphia Union in September 2018 against Sporting Kansas City. In 2020, he contributed to Philadelphia Union’s Supporters’ Shield triumph and continued developing into a dependable right-sided defender who can also operate in midfield. Internationally, Mbaïzo progressed through Cameroon’s youth setup and was selected for the senior squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. In June 2024, he made his 100th MLS appearance against FC Cincinnati, becoming the 18th player in Union history to reach that mark.
