Ondřej Kolář

Ondřej Kolář is a Czech goalkeeper born in Liberec on 17 October 1994. He developed at Slovan Liberec, progressing through the club’s youth system before gaining senior experience during loan spells with Varnsdorf between 2013 and 2016. Returning to Liberec, Kolář established himself in a system associated with coach Jindřich Trpišovský, whose approach demanded active defending and confident distribution. In January 2018, he followed Trpišovský to Slavia Praha, where he became an important part of the club’s successful side. Kolář helped Slavia win three Czech league titles and recorded 23 clean sheets in 31 league matches during the 2019–20 season. Comfortable starting attacks with his feet, he often moved beyond his goal line to support a high defensive line and clear through-balls. In March 2021, Kolář suffered a facial and frontal sinus fracture in a Europa League match against Rangers, later returning against Arsenal wearing protective headgear.
