Orlando Moisés Galo Calderón

Orlando Moisés Galo Calderón is a Costa Rican midfielder from Puntarenas, born on August 11, 2000. He developed in Costa Rican football and entered senior competition as a teenager, initially featuring at right-back before moving into defensive midfield. As a defensive midfielder, Galo combines ball-winning, positional coverage and forward passing, giving his teams protection in front of the defence. Galo made his Costa Rica debut in 2021, establishing himself as a regular part of the national team’s midfield. His progress was interrupted by a 12-month FIFA suspension beginning in October 2022, but he returned to action in late 2023. In July 2024, he joined Riga, continuing his career in Latvia and appearing in domestic and European competition. Galo also represented Costa Rica at the 2024 Copa América, adding high-level international experience to a career built on adaptability and resilience.
