Óskar Borgþórsson

Óskar Borgþórsson is an Icelandic forward who developed through Fylkir’s youth system. Born in 2003, he helped Fylkir win the 1. deild karla title during the 2022 promotion campaign. In 2023, he moved to Sogndal Fotball in Norway’s 1. Divisjon, while a loan return to Fylkir produced five goals. He later returned to Iceland permanently in July 2025, joining Víkingur Reykjavík. Borgþórsson contributed to Víkingur’s Besta deildin title that season, scoring in wins over ÍA Akranes and Breiðablik. Deployed mainly wide, he can attack from either flank or move centrally as an attacking midfielder, combining direct running with frequent shooting and defensive work. He has represented Iceland at under-21 level and received a senior call-up for a friendly against Mexico in February 2026, making his senior debut.
