Oliver Baumann

Oliver Baumann is a German goalkeeper born in 1990 in Breisach. He began playing at FC Bad Krozingen before joining the SC Freiburg academy in 2002, progressing through the club’s youth system. Baumann made his senior debut for Freiburg on the final day of the 2009–10 Bundesliga season, starting in a 3–1 victory over Borussia Dortmund. By 2010–11, he had become Freiburg’s first-choice goalkeeper and held that role for four seasons. In May 2014, Baumann moved to 1899 Hoffenheim, where he quickly established himself as a regular and later became club captain in 2022. He featured in Hoffenheim’s first UEFA Champions League campaign in 2018–19 and also gained European experience in the Europa League. Baumann received his first Germany call-up in 2020 and made his senior debut on 14 October 2024, keeping a clean sheet in a 1–0 win over the Netherlands.
