Nélson Cabral Semedo

Nélson Semedo is a Portuguese right-back born in Lisbon on 16 November 1993. He began his senior career with Sintrense before joining Benfica in 2012, developing through a loan at Fátima and Benfica B. Semedo broke into Benfica’s first team and helped the club win the 2016–17 Portuguese league title, while also receiving the league’s Breakthrough Player of the Year award. Barcelona signed him in 2017, and he won back-to-back La Liga titles during his three seasons at Camp Nou. In 2020, Semedo moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers, where his pace, stamina and recovery running supported his work on the right flank. He later became Wolves captain before departing in 2025. A Portugal international since 2015, Semedo was part of the squad that won the 2019 UEFA Nations League and now represents Fenerbahçe.
