Namiq Ələsgərov
Namiq Ələsgərov is an Azerbaijani midfielder born on 3 February 1995 in Çiləgir. He developed in Azerbaijani football before joining Qarabag in 2014, where he contributed to the club’s 2014–15 league-and-cup double. After an injury interrupted his progress in 2015, Ələsgərov continued his career with Neftchi Baku, producing the defining season of his career. In 2020–21, he scored 19 goals in 26 league matches, finished as the Azerbaijan Premier League’s top scorer and helped Neftchi win the title. His performances also brought international involvement with Azerbaijan, while his ability to operate in attacking midfield or from the flank gave him tactical flexibility. From 2022, Ələsgərov represented Sabah FA, adding experience and creativity to another leading Azerbaijani club.
