Nicola Zalewski

Nicola Zalewski is a Polish left midfielder born in Tivoli on 23 January 2002. He developed with Spes Poli and Atletico Zagarolo before joining AS Roma’s academy after attracting attention at a youth trial. At Roma, he progressed from an attacking midfield and wide role into a more versatile player. José Mourinho used Zalewski as a left wing-back in 2022, and he started the final as Roma won the 2021/22 UEFA Europa Conference League. He made his senior debut for Poland against San Marino in 2021 and later featured at Euro 2024. In January 2025, Zalewski moved to Inter Milan, where he supplied an assist in the Milan derby, before joining Atalanta permanently in August 2025. At Atalanta, he operates as a wide midfielder, using dribbling and progressive carries to advance attacks while contributing to the team’s intense system.
