Nelson Giovanny Quiñónes Iturre

Nelson Giovanny Quiñones Iturre is a Colombian left winger born in Túmaco on 20 August 2002. He developed at Once Caldas and made his senior debut in July 2021, later recording his first professional goal and assist against Envigado that November. Quiñones played 31 matches for Once Caldas before moving to Houston Dynamo on loan in July 2022. During the 2023 season, he became an important contributor as Houston won the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, including the final against Inter Miami, where his direct play helped win a penalty. His progress stopped in February 2024 after he suffered a severe knee injury while representing Colombia U23 at the CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament. Following about 20 months of rehabilitation, Quiñones returned in October 2025, playing the final 11 minutes of a scoreless draw with Sporting Kansas City. Houston waived him in March 2026, leaving his next move open.
