Numa Lavanchy

Numa Lavanchy is a Swiss right-back born in Morges on 25 August 1993. He developed in the Vaud region before establishing himself in senior football and gaining experience that led to a place in Switzerland’s top flight. Lavanchy joined Grasshoppers in July 2016, where he continued to develop as a dependable defender on the right. In February 2019, he transferred to FC Lugano and expanded his role as an energetic full-back or wing-back, contributing width while tracking back to support the defence. He helped Lugano win the Swiss Cup in 2022. Lavanchy moved to FC Sion on a free transfer in July 2022 and remained involved through the club’s relegation and return to the top division after winning the 2023–24 Challenge League. At Sion, he combines defensive positioning, recovery work and overlapping runs on the right flank.
