Niklas Jensen Wassberg

Niklas Jensen Wassberg is a Norwegian midfielder who developed through the Brann system. Born on 12 June 2004, he joined Brann’s academy as a teenager and made his Eliteserien debut in 2021 at the age of 16. That season ended with Brann’s relegation, but Wassberg became part of the side that dominated the 2022 OBOS-ligaen and secured an immediate return to the top flight. In 2023, he helped Brann win the Norwegian Cup while the team finished second in the Eliteserien. Primarily a central or attacking midfielder, Wassberg operates between the lines and contributes to build-up play before the final pass. He is noted for carrying the ball through tight areas, scanning before receiving and using disguised passes to progress attacks. At Brann, Niklas Jensen Wassberg has also taken on greater pressing and deeper playmaking responsibilities.
