Neil Farrugia
Neil Farrugia is an Irish midfielder born in Paris in 1999. He developed in Dublin, progressing through St James’ Athletic, St Joseph’s Boys, and Belvedere before joining the University College Dublin academy in 2015. Farrugia made his senior debut for UCD in 2017, while studying biomedical science, and helped the club win the 2018 First Division title and promotion. In June 2019, he moved to Shamrock Rovers, where he won the FAI Cup and four consecutive Premier Division titles from 2020 to 2023. A versatile wide player, Neil Farrugia has operated as a winger and wing-back, using his 1.87-metre frame to carry the ball and provide width. His form earned a Republic of Ireland senior training-camp call-up in May 2023. In January 2025, Farrugia joined Barnsley, and he moved to Dundee United a year later.
