Naser Aliji
Naser Aliji is an Albanian defender, born in Skopje on 27 December 1993, who can operate at left-back or centre-back. He developed in Switzerland with FC Baden and FC Aarau before joining FC Basel’s academy in 2008, where he was named the club’s youngster of the year in 2011 and 2013. Aliji signed his first professional contract with Basel in 2013 and helped the club win three successive Swiss Super League titles from 2013–14 to 2015–16. A loan to FC Vaduz in 2015 brought a Liechtenstein Cup medal, while his Basel period also included Champions League and Europa League appearances. He later played in Germany, Italy, Romania and Hungary, winning the Hungarian Cup with Budapest Honvéd in 2019–20. After representing Switzerland through under-21 level, Aliji switched to Albania, joined their Euro 2016 squad and now plays for Dinamo Tirana while remaining part of the national setup.
