João Miguel Macedo Silva

Miguel Silva, full name João Miguel Macedo Silva, is a Portuguese goalkeeper born in Guimarães on 7 April 1995. He developed at CD Ponte and Vizela before joining Vitória de Guimarães in 2013. Promoted to Vitória’s first team by Sérgio Conceição, he debuted in November 2015 and helped defeat Boavista 2–1. Silva made 24 appearances that season and spent five years competing for the starting role, recording more than 70 top-flight appearances. In 2020, he joined APOEL as a free agent, then returned to Portugal with Marítimo in 2021. At APOEL, Silva saved two penalties in a 2020 Europa League qualifying shootout against Zrinjski Mostar. He moved to Beitar Jerusalem in January 2023, helped win the State Cup with a clean sheet in the final, and remains part of the club’s squad. He also represented Portugal at under-21 and under-23 level in 2016 and 2017.
